We had the opportunity to enjoy four days at PAX East in Boston last week and during that time we hosted a panel on video game cocktails, guested on a Nintendo DS retrospective panel, attended various other panels like VG Tinder, and got to appreciate the company of friends from around the industry. We were also invited to a behind closed doors hands-on preview for Visions of Mana, the latest action RPG in the legendary franchise, which you can read my thoughts on as well as listen to us chat about it on the Pass The Controller Podcast later this week.
Of course, we also spent a handful of hours scouring the showfloor searching for the standouts. Indie games are a cornerstone of the foundation in the world of games and although certain staple developers/publishers like Devolver Digital and Yacht Club Games were notably absent this year, there was no shortage of interesting and unique games to discover. Amongst the dozens of games we played and watched these three took home our coveted Best of PAX East 2024 awards.
