A Trio Of Bayonetta Games Coming To Switch

This year at The Game Awards, Reggie Fils-Aimé took the stage with Geoff Keighley to show us a few new Switch titles we’ll be playing next year and beyond. The first of which was the announcement of a Bayonetta 2 port to the Nintendo Switch which includes a download code for the original Bayonetta. This is exciting for fans of the series who didn’t own a Wii U, since the game never saw a release on any other platform.

Rumors have also surfaced that Bayonetta 2 will offer new features, online and offline co-op, as well as amiibo support. A listing for both a Japanese and a European retail release has surfaced that includes a physical Switch copy of the original Bayonetta– there’s currently no sighting of a US version, though the Switch is not region locked so you could potentially import the Non-Stop Climax Edition.

As the reveal trailer for this Switch exclusive port wrapped, Reggie and Geoff exchanged some banter to build us towards the second reveal. Bayonetta 3 is currently being developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch by Platinum Games and most likely being published by Nintendo. Not much else was shown or revealed for the game other than that it is currently in development. Switch fans are eager to see a peek at what is on the horizon since Nintendo has been rather quiet about what their 2018 release of games looks like.

Fans can expect the Bayonetta 2 + 1 pack to drop February 16, 2018 with I’m sure Bayonetta 3 expected sometime holiday 2018 or early 2019. Watch below to see the onstage exchange between Geoff and Reggie as well as both trailers.
