Today, Nintendo dropped system update 4.0.0. for the Nintendo Switch and it’s available for download now. The update includes an array of utilities, the first of which allows players to transfer their user profile and save data to another Switch console. Both consoles must be updated to system 4.0.0. and be connected to the internet in order for the process to be possible. This comes as a boon to users who were previously worried about their content and saved data being locked onto a console.
The other major update is that now on top of being able to take snapshots with ease, you can just as easily capture video segments and share them directly to your linked Facebook and Twitter profiles. The video segments can be captured by holding the capture button down. The new feature allows you to store up to 30 seconds per clip.
Though, not every game features this video capture mode we expect all future Nintendo published titles and most major third party releases to incorporate the update. Currently the supported games are: The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 2.
Lastly, Nintendo added a total of 12 new player icons that you can choose to represent your player profile as well as the ability to pre-purchase and pre-install select new titles on the eShop.
